I have a 40 x60 run fenced on all sides and top for my little monsters. Their coop is in the center. Recently a coyote took our free range female peacock, so to protect the male we added a 20x60 addition to the run. My coop has motion sensor lights on all sides plus three feet of wire buried around the perimeter. The male peacock "Pete" went right in, once we put his food inside. of course we got the look when we closed the gate. Three nights later much to our surprise an owl had landed on top of the coop and was trying to gain entrance. The top consists of chain link fencing we got off of Craigslist hog wire and a layer of chicken wire. If he got in I would personally serve the chickens to him. However our delight was Pete sounded the alarm, his peacock scream echoed through the entire valley, I went out there and chased the owl off with a broom. My wife was inside the house laughing yelling "air raid, air raid" . I now can sleep easy if a racoon or a Bigfoot tries to gain access to my pen, I have an alarm
