Woohoo! I have been soooo stressed all day, well really since yesterday with all the crazy weather which caused my humidity and temp to go wonky. But everything seems to be going fine and I HAVE MY VERY FIRST PIP!

I'll keep you posted as we go along. Probably will not sleep tonight. Like with my human kids and labor, these chicks decided to happen in the middle of the night. I guess I will compare their pipping through zipping to labor because I am guessing it's just as painful to wait to see their cute little faces.

Yikes....is it bad that this one is 2 days early? I'm on day 19.....or is it considered day 20 since I started them at 7:30am on the 15th?

Yeah!!! and so it begins...good luck and we`ll look forward to seeing photos of your babies. Lockdown tomorrow for me.

Woohoo! Day 20 and I have two hatched and a bunch zipped! wee Is it OK that I keep flashing the candler light at them? I'm not going to blind them am I? I can't find my regular flashlight.

Another thing, I am hatching in egg cartons. One of the hatchlings seems to have his foot stuck in the egg shell. I guess he should be fine until he gets stronger and pulls it out, but my problem is that he is lying on another egg. Will the other bird die if he can't get out due to this chick being on top of him?

The light is fine, I've yet to blind a chick, and I'm pretty obnoxious with the light while they're hatching

as for the chick that is stuck, she'll be fine. As they start to hatch not only will they be lying on the other eggs, they'll also be playing football with them. Be prepared, it is hard to watch, but they will all be okay!

Good hatching vibes coming your way

Today will be the least productive day you've had in a while (well if you are anything like me on a hatch day anyway), prepare to stare at the bator all day long

Ahhh! Thank you so much. Between staring at this screen waiting for a reply and staring at my bator trying to see every inch (that darn fan thingy) with my flashlight, I'm shocked I haven't gone blind myself.

Yes, I predict I will be stuck to this bator like glue. I have been debating if I should wake up the kids who I am sure will be upset I didn't, but I just want the bator all to my self for a little while longer.
