I have a pomeranian goose sitting on eggs, she has another week and a half or so before they hatch, but her gander went over to the muscovy pen and brought these back to her:

Those are not pomeranian goslings.

I tried to take them away from her to put them back with the muscovy, but she flipped the heck out on me and I was afraid she'd break eggs or break babies. So she still has them.

I've put feed an water inside so that they can eat since she rarely leaves the nest.

Do you think she will continue sitting on her eggs? Or should I try to get the ducklings away from her?

Right now it's a soap opera with the critters on the farm. Nobody is doing what they are suppose to!

p.s. The muscovy girls still have half this hatch and are still sitting on another 30 eggs or so.

I'm certainly not one to ask as I don't have any geese yet, but think it's awfully funny (and inconvenient for you) that your gander duck-napped a bunch of ducklings. And even weirder that she's taken to them while still sitting on her own clutch. Sorry I wasn't any help, but CUTE PICS!

this is so precious, it is amazing how loving animals can be. if she gets up, you could put the eggs in an incubator.

If it were mine I would leave them all alone but have the incubator ready and watch them very carefully. I just had a silkie get off her nest with her 6 babies and napped the other 10;) eggs which I have hatched 6 more from.

OMG!!! Look how cute. I couldn't help but laugh when I read that the gander bought back ducklings for his bride.

I wish that I could have seen the kidnapping. That would have been a great You Tube video for you. Has the biological mother sent out an Amber Alert that her babies are missing? How is the mother duck doing?

I would just leave the eggs under her and have the incubator ready in the event she gets up early.

You need to get the video camera out and start taping and taking pics. I would love to see the soap opera over there. I'm tuning in for more.

Oh, duck nabbing - this is good news for me. My Narragansett turkey is sitting on Dutch Hookbill duck eggs - in the goose pen in back of the Sebbie who is sitting on one goose egg that I don't think will hatch. My best case scenario is that the turkey hatches the duck eggs and the geese nab them!

That is so cute! It's like the gander knows she wants babies and brings them to her, perhaps to finally get her off the nest.

I hope she stays on her eggs.

Some of the ganders are excellent daddies.

I would fence him away from the ducks before he steals any more. And next year, you know he can't have access to the ducks.

Cross your fingers and hope she sticks on the nest. If you try to get in there and take the ducklings, you'll have a rodeo. Geese are philosophically opposed to having eggs or hatchlings removed from their nest.

Where is the mother of the ducklings?
