I am VERY new to this duck and chicken thing. I have a 5 day old white pekin duckling right now and we ordered 6 chicks and 1 more pekin duckling, which will be here on April 27th. My question is, can I put the new duckling in with the older 1? The new 1 will be about 2 or 3 days old.

I have also been reading on here about putting ducklings and chicks together and been seeing some say they do it and some say not too. Can I put them together and just watch them or is it better to keep them apart?

I am more concerned about putting the 2 ducklings together.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I'd put the two ducks together as soon as you can, BUT... watch them for a few days before relaxing. I wouldn't even think of putting them with chickens because of their different "habits", not to mention that ducks are MESSY!

Thank you. I am so nervous yet excited. I have not had much luck with chicks, but the only ones I have had are ones that were rejected because they were already sickly. This duckling was rejected too but he seems to be doing great. He has attached himself to a stuffed duck. I can just picture when it gets older carring around a stuffed duck.........
