Hi,I just got my new incubator today and plan on putting the eggs in today too.Its a Brinsea mini eco but it only came with the thermonitor! It says in the directions to just fill up one of the wells during incubation but on the last 3 days to fill up both of them.I dont know were to get a humidity checker so is it ok if I just go with the directions?

You should go get a hygrometer - you can get one at Wal-Mart (by the thermometers) or at a pet store (they make them for reptile tanks). You can get one very inexpensively. Then, you'll need to calibrate it to make sure it's accurate. See this thread for instructions:

Also, you should really run your new incubator for at least 24 hours to get a feel for it and make any necessary adjustments before you set eggs in it.

Make sure you calibrate the hygrometer. There are directions on BYC for doing it. The test takes about 12-24 hours, don't remember which

The ones from Walmart seem to be off a little, or a lot depending on which one you pick. Even among the same model you will get different readings.

Good luck with your hatch
