I have a question

I am needing 30 egg laying chickens. I need 15 browns and 15 whites. Nees these to be the best breeds avalaible. I have almost every breed in the book. So I am going to post which ones I have had the best luck out of and the ones that I need. I need at least a dozen brown and a dozen white eggs a day every single day. At least. Please give me what breeds will do this. I am not a real fancy chicken kind of guy so I will settle for the birds they use in egg farms. Below is what I have come up with.

Brown

Red Sex Link
Black Sex Link
Barred Rocks
Rhode Island Red
Buff Orpington
Black Autralorp

White

White Leghorn
Brown Leghorn
California White

Or if you have had a breed that lays at leat a dozen eggs a day out of 15-16 birds will you please post it. Or if I need to order these in bundles of 5 or 6 chicks to get what i need that will be fine too. Thanks for any and all input!

Looks like you've got 'em figured out. To clarify, are you wanting to narrow your flock down to just two breeds -- a group of white layers & a group of brown layers -- and only have two breeds of chickens in your flock?

If that is the case, I would go with the RIRs and the white Leghorns.

I've never raised any white egg birds so I can't help there, on the brown egg side hands down Hubbard Golden Comets. It can easily be weeks before they take a day off.

Then again those Black Australorp aren't exactly shy about laying plenty of eggs.

Basically any of the sex links will do a decent job on the brown egg side.

I've never had any white layers either, but our barred rocks, RIR's and sex links are awesome layers. I honestly don't know if it's just my buff orps or not, but they are not good layers and the eggs are relatively small compared to the others.

All of the breeds you listed for brown egg layers are great layers. Leghorns are great layers too. So I think you have it covered.

California Whites are great!!!! They are great layers and are very friendly!!

The best layer of brown eggs is golden comets which are a sex-link,don`t know about white egg layers mine are brown and blue egg layers
