I noticed bout a week or two ago my silver laced wyandotte rooster right eye was swollen . I thoughjt he just bumped it or something. Now this morning when I went to let them out I noticed he has a rattle when breathing. He acts finet hough But I need to know what medicine to give him and what is wrong with him.

Im not positive whats wrong with him but you need to quarantine him ASAP! Like right now. Anytime one of your chickens gets sick you should quarantine first and find the solution second. I learned this the hard way unfortunately. Flocks do everything together and thus can transmit disease very quickly to one another. It may not be a communicable sickness but better safe than sorry right?

Absolutely quarantine! Respiratory illnesses are very contagious. Many people will choose to cull sick birds with respiratory issues because for many of these sicknesses, they will always be carriers and will transmit to other birds even if they get well.

Before deciding on a treatment, you want to try and narrow down what type of respiratory illness it is (unfortunately, many have similar symptoms)

Can You smell any putrid smell around his face? Is there any swelling other than his eye? Any nasal drainage, nasal crusting or bubbles in his eye? Perhaps we can narrow it down to help advise you if you decide to treat him.
