A few months ago I was browsing through a Hobby Farm magazine and I saw an ad for a brand of chicken feed. It had pictures of the bags and the bags had pictures of chickens on them. One had a picture of a chicken will dark blue feathers scattered throughout it. I was wondering if anyone has seen this and is it a real breed or has it been has the picture been enhanced. If not what breed is it?

No. I tried to make a mental note of the name until I was able to look it up, but I have been without the internet for several months and have forgotten it. I thought it was something like Manna, but the only thing I could find doing a search was pro manna and that isn't it.

If so, that's an Old English Game, black breasted red

A lot of black feathered birds will have an irridescent blue, green, or purple shine to them in the sun. I've got a black Plymouth Rock hen that gets a lot of comments from visitors because on sunny days she looks like she is solid dark purple.
