My Rode Island Chicken is not a happy girl. She is constantly whining, sometimes she gets very loud and starts yelling like somewhat of an alert way. We go into the backyard and nothing is there and she continues. She is very clingy and I’m not sure what to do. The other chicken that lives with her recently became broody and is sitting on eggs so she does roam the backyard on her own and I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it. I just don’t know what to do, I sit with her and pat her and feed her by hand but she still is constantly making an unhappy chicken noise

Since you have a broody on eggs (which I assume you're hoping she'll successfully hatch), I would not add any other new birds at this time, as that may upset the entire process. Also you're going to be busy with chicks, no reason to complicate it by trying to add older birds as well.

Adding an older bird requires isolation time away from your current flock, and then introduction time. By the time you get that done, your broody will have her chicks hatched and be in the run with them. I'm happy you are spending extra time with her.
