I've tried, but my pic is always "too large" or "too wide". I also wanted to use one of my existing uploads, and it wouldn't work....oh well

awsome I just got mine also took me a while to figue it out too . You find a picture you like and google aveator maker and you can make any picture into one !!!!

Go there and change the size from 200 to 100 - it will work. I use it for all my avatars.

UUGGHH!!! I just went to that make a avatar site shrunk a couple pictures and I still can't get the darn thing to work. It keeps telling me image is to large. I shrunk it to 100pixels like it says. What am I doing wrong.

I got it to work. Couldn't at first. When you browse to upload your avatar don't pull it from your picture file. The shrunk one will be in your download file.
