Diatomaceous Earth I use it for smells and to keep things dried out.

The Diatamaceous Earth talked about here is food grade. That's really important. Usually Perma Guard brand. It is also supposed to cut down on mites, lice and other bad bugs by kind of slicing them up so that they dehydrate and die. It is safe for humans, chickens and other pets. I sprinkle it under the pine shavings in the coop.
