I have/am going to have polish bantams, d'uccles, dutch bantams, and at least one serama cross. I want one standard sized hen for eggs for baking and stuff. Obviously I'll need a gentle breed that will be ok with the banties....I want a decent layer that will lay at least 4 eggs per week. Egg color doesn't really matter...but pretty colors would be nice...lol I'd like decent sized eggs...ideally an average size of grocery store large eggs. I want a pretty bird...I don't really want plain red, white, black, buff.... Sooooo.....does anyone have any suggestions???

Light brahma...mine is the calmest bird in my flock. She lays about 3 to 4 eggs per week. EE's also come in pretty colors and are calm birds and lay closer to an egg a day.

Why can't you use the bantam eggs? they are usually small to med. just adjust the number you use.

You won't be disappointed with an EE. They come in all different colors and are great, pretty colored egg layers. Mine lays one egg a day religiously and she is very personable:)
