I have a 6 month old chicken.
About 6 weeks ago, I found 4 eggs inside my coop. I got all excited about finally having some production from my beautiful chicken.
That was the last time I found an egg. 6 weeks ago...
I had thought that maybe she was laying in my backyard somewhere. I looked in a few spots that she hangs out in, but didn't find any eggs.
I decided to coop her up for a week to see if she was producing. No eggs.
I have another chicken, who is younger, and maybe a bantam breed, she isn't laying either. But, she is younger and smaller, so no surprise.
What am I doing wrong? Is this normal?
We have been on a transitional layer/pullet feed. Weather here is good and mild.
