I have no idea..... About Quail PLEASE HELP Pics Up

I got these as part of a deal. But I have no idea about Quail. The gentleman that pushed off on me said that they were Spanish Quail and that they were very rare. Needless to say I have now found out that there is no such thing. So I hope you fine people can help me out. Thanks Cheri

What do they look like? They are probably coturnix, there are several different colors.
These are golden, males have a solid red (rust) breast, females are spotted.

These are brown, same as goldens, males are solid breasted, females are spotted.

These are tibetan, males and females can only be distinguished by vent sexing (or crowing/egg-laying

)

These are whites, same with tibetans, they can only be sexed by vent sexing.

They are all coturnix (japanese quail), just different variations

They are all whites, some call them english whites, some call them A&M. True A&M are hard to find. You have some that are golden (the spots on them are gold colored) and some that are brown (brown spots on them), which is pretty neat, I don't have any golden-whites. The only way to sex them is by vent sexing, crowing, or egg-laying. Vent sexing is very easy, hold the quail in your hand and turn it over. Near the back of the vent (tail side) if it is a male, there will be a large gland right behind the vent. If you press lightly on this a white foam will come out. You can also tell by the width of the pelvis, but this only works if the hens are laying.

ETA: A male's pelvis is about a thumbs-width apart, a laying hen will have a pelvis about twice as wide.
