Hi, seller delivered this beaut today and said it was a female, However the more I look the more I'm thinking male.
Large Comb and wattles, hackle feathers and I feel like i can see some saddle feathers butttt I could be wrong.
There is another pekin that is supposed to be about the same age as her but his saddle feathers are clear as day.
Can you please help this overthinker coz I cannot be dealing with 2 rooster my neighbors will have a meltdown 😅

Thank you. Would u take it up with the seller or should I just leave it as my fault for.not checking properly?
If the seller hatches and raises cochins regularly (or is a regular breeder of any type of chicken), they knew what they were doing. It has saddle feathers and a big red comb, they were taking advantage of you. If they raise cochins, I'm sure they have or had pullets to compare it to. At younger ages, I would say benefit of the doubt and assume they misidentified, but at 16 weeks they knew and expected to not be called out on it. I think it's justified to reach out to the breeder, but given that they were willing to lie to you in the first place, I'm not sure if they'll offer to try to help fix the situation. I would not be shocked if you reach out and they shut down and stop responding.

Can you get in the pen so I can see a photo without the chicken wire in the way?

I know why everyone's saying cockerel, but I have several pekin bantams and they can mature very early. Just had one lay before 18 weeks.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not convinced this is a male.

This chicken is so confusing. I feel like I see saddle feathers in the first photo, but they disappear in the third photo! The fact that their tails kind of plume downward doesn't help. Like you said, the white male is very obvious.

Will the seller let you exchange since you probably paid for a female?
