View attachment 1208973 These poor babies have a frozen pond today with temperatures in the mid to upper twenties with a real feel of 15 degrees. I hate this, they were sitting around quite a bit today because they were so cold. We just brought out a couple of tubs so they could clean up a little. I feel so bad for them. I barely slept last night.

They're just fine, Dad... honest...

My ducks never did that.
But I did see one fly again today, which is incredible for a runner ducks. So far, our winter is not too hard on them. Weather-wise.

I'm so glad to see Lucky and Flynn are doing well. Love the snowman....that's one talented duck. I haven't been on this thread in a while so I'm so glad everything is good in duckland.

we had 4* last night with a real feel of -19*
they were fine
they are mad at me right now though because there is a snow bank hiding their puddle from them and they are too scared to go over it to get to their swimming hole

How do you keep their swimming hole from freezing?

Nobody has any manners. They are so frustrated that their pond is frozen they are using their heated water bowl instead. I guess it's their version of a jacuzzi.

Maybe get a 50-100 gallon water tank like for horses and a water heater?? The tank heaters keep the water 35 degrees and will keep the surface of the tank ice free all winter. The 50 gallon ones are only about a foot tall.
