Hi guys,

I generally just buy my food from the fed store and use the bag labelled for my needs (starter chick, laying, game bird, etc).

But now I have a mixed flock, so they (mostly) eat together. I'd like to understand the difference in feeds for layer, chicks and young turkeys to understand how to feed them best. I know that layers need more calcium for the eggshell.. but young chicks would also need it for the bones that grow.

Is there any chart that compares the feeding requirements for poultry?

I've search the forum but it mainly talks about the amount of protein being different.. but when I had ducks, I had an angel wing and when I made a bit of research I understood it could be related to too much protein intake or not enough vitamins in the food (so the joints are not formed properly). I think I remember something about niacin deficiency also.

And now I have turkeys and wondering if they have special needs also, aside from the amount of proteins!

I feel like I am blinding feeding my flock without understanding and that's a feeling I don't like!

Thanks.

EDIT: side question.. if I do Fermented Feed with grains and starter feed, will it contain niacin and vitamin E and D?! Would I be able to feed chick starter + FF to my turkeys and ducks without issues?
