I attempted to hatch my own chicks, out of 14 eggs, I only got ONE.. UGH... I'm so sad for this little guy. I have two more in the bator, but it's not looking good at this poing ;( Anyway, this little one is chirping non-stop. What can I do for him? I have a few stuffed animals and a feather duster in the brooder. I'm going to call a store nearby where I've gotten chicks from before in hope he has some young ones so I can give him a buddy or two.. Anything else I can do??

TIA!

Ugh I had this problem last year.

The only thing that helped was putting her in the room farthest from us and closing the door

Have you tried a mirror? Not much else you can do short of finding a buddy and then they might not get along. Eventually, mine got used to being alone until I could put her out with the big girls (then there's the problem of introducing her into the flock) She is the friendliest little girl now though. Good luck

Finding another chick (or chicks) is the only thing that has worked for me.

If the feed store doesn't have any, maybe a local BYCer will?
