May I suggest one way to cull a chicken. Of course the bullet will do the job, but so will a hatchet.
For all you out there that just can not stand to use either one; there is another way. Talk to your vet and obtain a bottle of Acepromazin. This is typically used on horses to calm them during procedures and in a serious collic.

We just put down a chick this day that was not right and we waited several days before making the decision.

This drug is injected in the breast and it does not take a lot to put the little ones down. We use a very small, diabetic needle. They just fall asleep and then in a few minutes expire. It is very humane.

A violent death is really not necessary if you do not have what it takes to do this.
