I HAVE ORPHANS!!!! :( UPDATE, got em !!

Suenrob, just watch them right before dark and see where they go. they will all huddle up together in a ball somewhere, probably wherever they were hatched and used to going unless thats where the attack occurred. wait until it gets good and dark, not just darkish. take a box or something and quietly walk up to where they are and if you can block them somehow thats great but they will a piece of cake to just grab them and place them in the box. you may want to have a box you can close the first few times you catch them.

otherwise, i use Ruth's herding technique in daylight hours.

how old are the chicks?

also, tonite when you go to get them if you use a flashlight, turn it off whenever you find them.

They are older than the pic, almost 3 weeks now. Nighttime temps stay in the mid 60's.

Thank you all for the kind words and suggestions. I caught one last night at dark. The others hid together and stopped peeping so I couldn't find them. I'll try again tonight using your suggestions. Mama trained them very well to take care of them selves. If it wasn't for predetors, I would just leave them alone.

Ps. I have 4 new silkie babies this morning!!!!!

Good News!!!!!!!!! I caught the babies!! They actually went into the main coop to be with the other chickens. I shut the door and was able to catch them easily. I brought them in the house to try to tame them a bit since they have never been touched. They are sharing the "chicken room" with the band new silkies that are hatching today. (they are in a different brooder)

One little chick is the splitting image of her mother
