I'm sure you're sick of hearing it, but I have a peeper!!! Or maybe more, it's a lot of peeping. Which means, despite my bumbling efforts, at least someone is still alive! Ancona duck eggs, day 27. How long, usually from peeping heard until pip? If I don't see an external pip before bed, should I raise the humidity in case it happens overnight? I am so in awe of this process.

Hi, I am new to incubating. I have a dozen duck eggs and 8 chickens eggs in mine! So excited!
You're on day 27? Of chickens or ducks? If chickens, you should of raised the humidity for lockdown and stopped turning on day 18, I think. If you're doing duck, lockdown is about day 25, depending on the breed, and you should of raised the humidity and stopped turning.
The eggs may not hatch all on the due date. Some go over time up to a couple of days. When they hatch, leave them in the incubator for up to 24 hours. Whenever you open it the humidity and heat gets sucked out, and if it's too dry they may get shrink-wrapped.

Congrats on the peeps!
