We just got our order of six chicks from MPC yesterday; I tried to give them to our White Rock hen, who has been broody for about 3-4 months, but that nasty little ball of feathers decided that she didn't want THOSE chicks! The two other hens who had been broody stopped being broody about two days ago. I tried the first hen, but she (and her fearless rooster) were scared of the babies.
I tried to give them to the second hen who raised the last batch of MPC chicks, and she took them! She snapped right back into broody mode and is sitting on them and purring at them right now. She is such a good momma!
