Hello! I’m new to this page and only wanted to post some photos of a beautiful antique egg incubator that I’ve come across at a clients home. I sell items for people in the metro Atlanta area - and I was shown this beautiful piece. I’m not for certain if they plan for me to sell — I think they may want to sell, but I wanted to only learn more about this delightful piece. It is called “The Jewel Hot Air Incubator” made by the Poultry Supply Department of the International Stock Food Company of Minneapolis, MN. I’ve done some research, and all I can find on this piece are two newspaper clippings dating back around 1905 mentioning the method (hot air) to hatch these eggs. I will attach photos I have of this piece. If anyone has information or a link, or person, or place that I can get additional information, I would love to learn more about this, especially how it may have worked! Please and thank you!

is there a mechanism on the right side of the box? If so I believe its the kind that uses an oil lamp to create the heat. I see very similar ones frequently on craigslist for $50-$500 depending on how complete the unit is, the quality and manufacturer.

edited: i found the ad you spoke of, it does use an oil lamp to produce heat that is fed through the machine. the mechanism on top is a thermostat of sorts, i'm not sure how it works but it allows venting and stops letting in heat when it's appropriate.
