Though I may not really want to know the answer. 🤣

Light Brahmas, 7 weeks old. Omelet's comb is much redder than Dumpling's.

(Don't worry about Dumpling's eye -- it's just looking weird from the camera flash. She can see so well that she caught a bee or beetle out of the air this evening).

Omelet is slightly larger, has more black on her wings, and is currently top of the pecking order.

I didn't want a rooster in this first batch on the new property but I knew it was possible.

My in-town rooster, Marion, was a Light Brahma. A beautiful, majestic yard-dinosaur a full 2 feet tall.

I wonder if Brahmas are more difficult to vent sex? Marion was originally Rosemary and it would be funny to have an oops roosters again -- 2 for 2 in buying 8 chicks twice and the same breed.

Agree with above, but also in the last picture looks like you have another cockerel behind Omelet :'(

No. Chipotle is a California White, so the large comb is to be expected. She's got the palest comb in the flock, but her Leghorn ancestry is showing in the size.
