I have to cull :(

I just had a chick hatch with his intestines out and with crooked toes. I will definatley have to cull this one. What causes this to happen??

This is the only down fall of having chicks!!!!!!!!!!

I know a gun doesnt sounds great but I couldnt hold the poor warm moving chirping bird and just pull its poor little delicate head off!!! I will let my dad cull it tomorrow morning.

I've experienced some pretty terrible mishaps that led to culls - I've opened eggs after hatching is done that had live but underdeveloped chicks in them. . . The whole body was fine, but the yolk was still sitting there, and the chick was just gasping for breath, practically screaming. . . I had to cull it with a simple ax cutting. Quick, quiet, and painless.
