I have to talk POLISH!

So my little one has white wing feathers coming in. She is a white crested black. Is that normal? Do they lose those white wing feathers as they grow?

Yes mine did the same thing. By the time she was completely feathered out she was all black except for the crest.

Same here, I have 2 and they lost their white wing feathers by 4 weeks.

are Polish hard to breed? I'm having a hard time incubating them, and then if they hatch, they died within a month any suggestions?
I get a lot of infertile eggs. But never had a problem hatching them. I use 3 thermometers in my bator and keep the temp as close to 100 degrees as I can. Watch how much fluxuation there is, if you have some, place some bubble wrap over the bator.

I hope you candle, so you can see at 1 week if you have infertile eggs, and can watch the progress and maybe try to figure out why they are not hatching.

Once they are born, I learned the hard way that they needed their chick feed ground up smaller. I lost my first Polish not realizing that she couldn't eat the crumbles. My next batch had started peeping a lot around 7 days and I watched them eat and realized that they weren't really eating, mostly flingling or dropping the crumble. I ground it up and they were like vultures. Now I just grind all chick feet for the first week or two.

Do you have any thoughts at all about why they die prior to a month old?
