Ha! I've already got the chickens, but they only have a small "porch" that got ripped by a predator who got one of myy 2 month old pullets. So we are making a 16x8 completly predator proof run for 24/7 turn out for my main flock.

LOL, are we related? I picked up 32 eight foot long 2 x 4's yesterday for our chicken run. We got quite a bit of the framing done today before we had to quite since we had dinner plans.

We're doing pretty much the same thing.... making panels and connecting them together, and enclosing the whole thing in 1" x 2" welded wire, including lining the bottom.

Just what are 2x4's going for in your area? They just broke $2.00 @ here. I've been buying the cull wood they sell in the back of Home Depot. They cut it in half and sell it for 51 cents per board. I have made some really neat stuff like a milking stantion for my goats, picket gates and I'm working on a new set of nesting boxed for the girls. I'm trying to figuer out how to build my new coop with 4 ft lengths. I'm having so much fun!
