But it is day 24. I hadn't planned on having chicks this year. Should I just keep an eye on her and the eggs. The nest box is not at a safe height for chicks. Planned on moving them once they hatched. Thought I broke the broody before I went out of town but I came home to 4 eggs, so I let her keep them. I wasn't ready for chicks, but Daisy doesn't care!

Any chicks yet? They can take much longer under a broody. With cold weather I've had bantams take longer than 4 weeks to hatch their eggs when they decide to nest in the trees! And 21 days is just an average anyway.

Sounds like Daisy is determined to be a mama hen. 💗

We have 2 chicks now. Still 1 egg that is not as far along as the other 2 were. We will see if she will stay on it. I have moved them away from the others. The nest was way to high for babies. I have been wanting to change nests, so this is motivating me to get that done. Now I am just hoping they are both hens.
