So, I finally heard some peeping from my chicks... This evening was 21 days!!

Is this a good sign? I have the humidity up in the LG, and temps holding steady. Is there anything else I need to do?

Should I take the vent plugs out??? I'm afraid to do much other than watch. I still have the towel over the 'bator I use to keep the temp steady.

The vent plugs mostly help keep the moisture in. I put them in or out as the humidity dictated. AS the chicks hatch out the humidity rises considerably, so you may want to take them out AFTER the first one hatches.
The LG has lots of other air vents so the chicks will have air irregardless of the vent plugs.

I personally did NOT keep a towel over mine. I think you would want to remove the towel when you are hatching to make sure that they do get good air flow. But I didn't actually use a towel so

I have an LG as well and my plugs are out. First one hatched at 9:00 last night, second one was almost completely out by 6:30 this morning. Good luck!

HI,
I am day 24 and my first chick is out.
Not an expert here but I was told not to cover vent holes because they need the fresh air exchange. I also have a LG.
Mine started peeping yesterday.....first chick this morning.
Have fun
