OK, so I am so excited because I def. thought our little "Mama Rock" would not succeed. Mainly because we had a clumsy roo (really clumsy, I don't think I ever "witnessed" success... maybe he had stagefright?) AND this little lady seemed like she was always on BREAKS!

Anyway, her babies are "due" Sat and she is in her nesting box (about 10 inches off the ground).... and.... drumroll please !!! I hear PEEPS, precious, little, baby peeps! Oh my goodness I'm so excited.

We had big plans for this brooder business that obviously didn't happen. So, I just gave her some water which she happily took while glaring at me, and I worried that her baby(ies) may fall out of her nest so for now I blocked it in so she can get out but the babies can't (in this pic I blocked both broodies, I moved to to just Mama Rock). This tupperware thing will have chick food, sawdust, and water in it. Can I move the Mama and babies to this and cover with chicken wire? If so, when do I do it?? Oh I'm so nervous. Want to keep everyone happy and safe.

I have a mean broody next to her on the right. She is due next weekend, should I put a similar set up for her and move them? ORRRRRR... could it be that I am freaking out over nothing and mama will take them out of the nestbox safely when she's ready? I just worry that if they get out it'll be a problem.

I guess i would watch and wait......... I thought I would have better words of wisdom, but I dont, just watch if the chicks can go in and out on their own (the can get over some pretty big things) then leave them if they cant then move I guess. Sorry Im not of more help

Congrats on the babies

OK, so I'm thinking we just build a ramp.... Would that work?
