I just bought a Flock of pure breed Black penedesencas,
I did some research and found that black is the original color /truest color of penedesenca.
I bought them form an older man/ breeder who was retiring from chickens. He told me he had been raising them since the late 80's -early 90's. / he breed them for over ten years.
He gave me as much info on the breed as he could along with his experiences and opinions of the breed.
Befpre I bought them I asked around and other who knew him told me that when they raised some of his chicks for him until laying age and told me that the pullets layed a deep rust color - to almost a black color.
It only cost me my arm and my leg
I will post some pics soon.
So everyone can see some pure breed penedesencas and thier eggs.
I am about 1 month away from getting eggs out of them they are a young set, along with 2 older hens.
In the mean time ,I would appricaiate any other info on this breed ,
and the other three color varieties Wheaton, Creoleo ,Partridge.
I am not looking to buy any , I just would like more info on the Penedesenca.
and also get in touch with others who own this breed.
Especially breeders who carry the black variety.
I already checked out feathersite, its info was limmited, and some what helpful.
