I just cant decide

I'd lose the EE and keep the BA and SLW, personally. My EE is my WORST layer. First to stop laying this winter, and last to start up again this spring. She also isn't laying more than one or two a week, when everyone else is pretty much at an egg a day. Eggs are pretty, but that's about it. I have a BA (I think) cross and she is an amazing layer. Also have a SLW cross. Both of which laid through out the winter. Not as frequently, but never quit. Personality wise, they are both really sweet as well, and the EE is not so much. Maybe she can tell she's marked for the crock pot. lol

Well, if you want the girls for the eggs then keep the best layers. If your looking to keep them as pets, keep the nicest personality ones. If your looking for nice ones to look at, keep the prettiest ones. Which ever you decide, good luck. It's never an easy decision.

EE's are mixed. Some are pretty bad egg layers and some are really good. It depends what they are mixed with. My EE is one of the most consistent layers I have.

EE's are the hardest to assign traits to since they are not a breed. They can be mixed with anything and can have all kinds of traits. I would not eliminate the EE just because she is an EE. Any of them you have may or may not be a good egg layer.

How old are they? The SLW pattern might change as she gets older.

I would keep the BO, the BR (I LOVE my Barred Rocks) an EE (for their blue eggs) and the sex links. Sex links are great egg layers.

I would keep the BA, It lays really good, has a great personality, and her color is BE-U-TI-FUL!

They are roughly 6-7wks old.

I'd keep the BA for sure. Terrific layer, super sweet. I'm about to chuck one of my EE's to the hawks (no, not really) because she pecks at the BA constantly.

My EE is the sweetest of my flock. She even lets me pet her and pick her up. She's the first to come and investigate things. She'll walking into the house when the patio door is open (the dog usually has to herd her out). She is a fickle egg layer now, but she's my most loyal hen.

Momto3 it sounds like we aren't too much help as well all have different opinions on the birds....but I do agree to wait until you are ready to part with them...you will learn their personalities better and can decide on that.
