My poor girl I thought only had 2 spots on each foot. Under closer observation I found 3 spots on one foot and 1 spot on the other. I did the best I could for her. She was so good I wrapped her in a towel and she just layed there and let me do it. I felt so bad doing it to her but it had to be done she was limping. Took me over an hour. But with the 3 spots I got a lot out of infection. I hope I got it allSo how often do you change the dressings on feet? I read every day and then 2 days. My coop has 2 windows in it and 3 of my chickens get up in the windows at night. The other 3 our in the window. It's an old milk shed converted to a coop. I've read that chickens can get bumblefoot from jumping down from high places. What if any thing can I do to discourage the 3 from getting up in the window and jumping down. Will shutting the windows at night discourage this? These are newer white windows like in a house window? I know that I'll have to do the surgery probably sometine in the future. BUT I HATE DOING IT TO ANY ANIMAL I was using straw as a floor covering but changed to would chips. Should I go back to straw. Which one is better to use?
