I just do not get what is with these Roos

I hatched 8 cuckoo marans about 4 months ago. 4 hens and 4 roos to add to my 8 older hens. They were the calmest roos I had. I just added them to the general population in the coop and suddenly they have decided to beat the crap out of the hens they were hatched with. I was devastated the other night when I found one they injured so badly, she ended passing away. There were 2 more hens today. I thought they were trying to mate and just go too rough, but I think this is just beyond that. What is going on with them??? Please help

Sounds like there are just way too many roos for the number of hens. It is recommended you have at least 10 hens for one roo. Sorry about your hens.
