I just feel sick!

Those big bags of leg quarters are NOT old roosters, they're simply cornish cross birds. Think about it, who on earth would be raising "old roosters" in a commercial meat operation? And even my older dp roosters don't have quite the meat those big bags of leg quarters have. Boneless skinless breast is the prime meat, but for every filet of boneless skinless breast, there's a hind quarter that has to be used, also.

Now granted, this doesn't mean there's not testicles still in them. And kidneys. But the basic premise is off, and the birds aren't all males.

Not to mention the size of the testicles of a six week old CX compared to an adult rooster. lol

If I implied they were old roosters, I didn't mean to. I don't know where they get their chickens from and to be honest, I never thought about where they got their chicken from. If I had thought about it, I would have supposed they got their chickens from some of those giant quonset hut places that look like egg laying productions. They may be for all I know. I just know the signs outside the property say names like, "Tyson."

Those do not look like the little yellow bags I have seen in the leg quarters. Maybe they were fat after all?

The majority of the chicken you find in a grocery are Cornish Cross chickens that are about six weeks old. Those you saw on the leg quarters were testicles on a six week old chick. These are from roosters that were about 20-24 weeks old. They grow! ha

I couldn't find an emoticon that shows embarrassment. LOL I didn't know the ages and didn't realize.

Amazing isn't it. ha! Ya know, a lot of people eat different kinds of animal testicles. Rooster fries, mountain oysters (from pigs), bull fries, etc. I've had "bull fries", tasted okay but the texture wasn't great- too mushy.
