I just finished my first denim quilt "Pics"

I was in the thrift store yesterday looking for silk ties to make a purse, and naturally I have to talk, One of the guys that works there told me that some lady buys blue jeans and makes purses out of them, He had one behind the counter she wanted $40.00 for and it was really neat. She just cuts off the legs sews them up then decorates them , and denim seems to last forever and washes to, double value. Your quilts are really lovely.

I was thinking of doing a circle jean quilt for dh, using some of his old tshirts as the centers. He has so many he doesn't want to get rid of (because he likes the designs or special person gave it to him).

I like the rag quilt alot!! Even the back is attractive to me! I might even steal that idea for one for me!

Sundance-- Are you going to try and make you a purse? If so, before you buy the jeans, try the local Freecycle to see if you can aquire some free ones. Also ask your friends and neighbors for old jeans.

All of the jeans I have used have been given to me for free. So the only cost is the little bit of fabric used and my own labor. I like free stuff. I always ask because you only get one of two answers. Yes or No.

Chevygirlbeth---Just Google denim jean quilts and you will be surprised at what you eill find. Now I have togo and look for used skirts and jumpers. (they have the most useable material)

lol. I still have to do my blocks for the Quilted Rooster swap, start on the guestbook quilt from our wedding, and I would like to make a quilt as a gift for my sister's upcoming wedding, as well. Oh and DH is pushing me to make some more baby quilts, too (we have several friends who are expecting)! So if I start on a denim quilt right now, DH might not be all too happy!

Hey Chevy......... You found any skirts yet? Did you get some denim for Christmas? Again, not trying to provoke the making of a quilt here.
