Hi! My name is Kat, and I live out in the desert. I got a big coop for my baby chicks (they are not using it yet) and I have a kiddie pool for my rescue duck!

I have wanted chickens for a while now, and now that I have them I am so happy! They look so cute when they are small and now that they are starting to feather up I am excited to see them become full grown egg layers for my family and I.

I also got a duck from our local Animal Control, she was saved from someone who dumped her at the park. She has no idea how to fly, and she is super tame. She lets me hold her and basically do whatever I want to her. After I got her she started to lay eggs once a day for me in the morning.

If any of you have advice on how to properly take care of my avian friends, please tell me! I have already gone to this site for advice before actually joining. I will try to post pictures onto my profile of my chicks and duck later!

Hi Kat, congrats on finally getting some birds! You have been given some good links so I'll just say hello and make yourself at home here!

Nice to meet you Kay, ducks like a few buddies but, since yours is a girl I think she will be happy to follow the chickens around.
