With a double yolk egg can two chicks develop and survive? I have gotten two of them in three days. Everyone I ask says they don't know and wondered the same thing. Deb

Yes, two chicks can develop and both live - however it is extremely rare for both chicks to pip/zip, hatch and live.

Wisher1000--I don't have a rooster so that is what happens. When my husband crack open the first one he was amazed that there could be two yolks.

Both embryos were alive at day 13, but died shortly thereafter.
