I just killed a chick :O

I was candling my eggs and I accidently dropped my torch on one of the eggs, I heard a cracking, turned the light on and the egg was crushed there was veins and a tiny embryo slightly moving inside I think it was about 12 days old. I feel so upset and really angry with myself

Don't be so hard on yourself, accidents happen. Just remember you will be three times as careful next time. It's no fun to lose a baby, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I wish there was some way to save the situation. I don't think anyone here has an answer for that but if someone does, maybe they will post about it. Again, sorry for your loss. Sylvia

Don't worry

. When we incubated eggs for the first time, I accidentally put some eggs that were never going to hatch in the incubator which could have resulted in these eggs exploding and killing every chick--- which fortunately didn't happen. I was really hard on myself too, but accidents happen so it'll be ok.

I know how you feel but nothing anyone says will help. Just know that many of us have been at fault for losing little ones. We live and learn. Sylvia
