… But I’m a bit confused. 😅 So I understand that hens need 3-4 sq feet in the coop, and chicks need 6sqin-1sqft in the brooder, but what about older chicks? Like 2-3 months old. What do they need in their sleep space? Thanks!!!

I would say what they seem comfortable in . So probably 2 ish sq feet. I'm not an expert though. The more the better and as long as they don't seem cramped you should be good!

There are no dumb questions regarding poultry. It's not like you run into people everyday who are experts on chicken keeping. When I do encounter someone to chat with, it's like Christmas and I remember the convo for months, lol.
Just last month I was talking with my local tsc manager who we've chatted with for years, who also keeps chickens, and he happened to ask about what I was buying. He had never even heard of feeding a 20% feed with Oyster Shell on the side, or that 20% All Flock and 20% Chick Grower are nutritionally equivalent. At my store that's $6 per 50 lb bag price difference, so he was excited. Point being, that's supposed to be his job but it's not as though he had anyone knowledgeable to teach him.

What Rosemarythyme and Aart are getting at is those 2-3 month olds are going to be adult sized in no time. At this age, they're like popcorn kernels you've just put in the microwave. You may as well size their space for adults :)
