I just lost a chicken... Do they kill one another?

I just lost a chicken and I don't know why! :'( the chicken coop is inside a large completely covered dog run so nothing could get to them. Do chickens fight one another? There were feathers everywhere and one of the other chickens looked as though a few feathers were broken off her back. I am worried about how to keep them safe, but from whom?

Problem I see with this setup is not the opening size in the mesh(what is it, 2x4?) but the gaps where the panel meet.

Maybe I missed it, but the the OP @1janiam ever tell how the bird was killed(wound locations and appearance) or if the body was left inside the fence? Were there any holes dug under the fence? Was the tarp on top torn or a loose enough gap discovered to gain access and/or carcass removal?

That is a good question. The ramp appears to have come unhinged and fell inside the coop. The chicken did not appear to have any wounds aside from some blood on her leg and feathers everywhere. I have been locking up the coop every night.
