I *just* made this incubator...

*UPDATE!*

Hatched 8 little ones. 5 on day 20 and 3 on day 21. Incubator held temperature very well, temp was also steady in the room. I ended up switching between a 20 and 25 watt bulb throughout the incubation, for the most part it stayed pretty consistent and didn't have to change the bulb much. During the last 3 days I had to switch to a 40 watt in order to keep the warmth and humidity within the proper parameters. Temperature was between 99 and 102 throughout incubation. No water was used and humidity was not monitored until day 18 when I added as big and flat of a container of water that would fit. Around 6X4 inches, about an inch and a half high. Added sponges and wet rags to the water tray, and topped up with hot water when necessary or if the humidity dipped below 60%. Humidity stayed between 60 and 80% during lockdown, averaging between 65-75%. It was not difficult to maintain the humidity. I began with 12 eggs, 11 went into lockdown. I'm not 100% sure if the last 3 are still viable, but I'm going to leave them in for a couple of more days. I did not have to assist any of the 8 that hatched. I'm pleased with this box incubator and I will definitely use it again.
