I just messed up! BIG TIME!

Poor Jax! I bet that scared the pee out of him

I wish our horses would kick this one beagle that we have, maybe she would learn to leave them alone. Whenever we are at the pond fishing and this dog is with us, she is constantly barking at the horses. Of course, it would help if the horses weren't right there being nosey-bodies, but I wish they would teach her to shut up!! One of the horses will kick at her, but you can tell she's not really trying to hit her, she just wants that noisy dog to hush as much as we do!

I keep trying to tell the dogs that the horses will eat them if they (the dogs) keep bothering them, but they don't believe me.

The same horse that kicks at the pup seems to play along by going nose first after the pups

I just called DH at work and told him what I did. He said as long as Jax didn't yelp (he didn't) that the cow didn't get a good lick in.

I hate cows!

I'm cooking myself a couple of angus burgers. Maybe that'll make me feel better.

OT - Deb, this farm is loaded with minerals. Mainly quartz, but some say there are diamonds here too. We are not that far from Crater of Diamonds State Park.
I've been collecting large pieces of pretty quartz to put around Charlie Girl's grave.
The piece I reached down to pick up when Jax got kicked is clearly quartz on the outside but it has a solid chunk of something black running thru the center of it. Gonna ask DH about it when he gets home.

We have an annual rock show put on by the local Mineral & Gem club. I got CRAZY there!!! I bought a gorgeous 12" slab of Brazilian agate last year!! I am in the desert so I find all kinds of neat stuff. Take pics and I can help you identify it.

I took my yellow lab over to the edge of the property to see the neighbor cows. She somehow walked over the electric fence - it zapped her and she yelped and tried to get free, but was straddling it . . . . . . . . .she got free after ziging and zagging and getting zapped.

I sure felt like a bad dog mommy too! She shook for awhile and finally calmed down, but it took me much longer

Jax is a german shepherd dog, nearly five months old.

oh thats right..I remember now..really,if the worst thing in his life is a little knock from a cow you should be happy..remember,even kids will fall down and run into things and get plenty of knocks before they figure things out and grow up..

I remember when the farmer was across the road in the pasture trying to herd his cattle into the trailer and the boys went home to get their dirt bikes... so i went over there with my black shepard mix and she was all game chasing them and barking at them...

well, then the dummy got in the way one time and got jumped over and it rolled her over but she got up and kept chased... i was thinking, oh no!!! thinking of internal injuries and such... but she was ok.

I think it scared me more than it scared her. She was having the best time of her life. dork.
