so i ordered the chicks and then i had a conversation with my husband about building a new coop because we will need someplace for the chicks to live until they are big enough to go live with the hens we have. he said "well it takes two months for them to be big enough to even go outside so lets not worry about that now." hahahahaha. he doesn't remember what building the first coop was like - months of nothing but chicken coop building during every waking hour.
has anyone ever bought one of those "pre fab" coops that you put together yourself? like the ones mypetchicken sells? i was thinking i could get a small one and put the current hens in it because there are only three hens left, then the new babies can have the big coop.
