I just ordered from My pet chicken!

I just put in my order last night, but with the combo of breeds I wanted, they were not available before May. That is probably a GOOD THING because we are just getting the keys to our new house today, so to say we'll be busy, and finding time to build coop will be tough... is an understatement. I ordered 5 EEs, 2 silver wyandottes, 2 partridge cochin, and 2 light brahmas. I plan to keep 5 for myself, and if my coworker doesn't want the rest, I'm sure I'll have no problem finding them homes. I am so excited, I am already thinking up names for them.

Now the waiting begins

I'm ordering this weekend. I just need to double check to see what our local feed store is carrying (I think I'm going to get a orpington and australorp from them) and then I'll get some silver lace wyandottes, a cochin, welsummers, and easter eggers from MPC...I'm on the fence right now, but I might buy a gold lace wyandotte too. I'm not sure

I REALLY want them right now, but I think it would be better wo wait until April when it's a little warmer at nights (it's still getting below freezing here at night), and I'm still working on the coop too. It's so hard to wait!!

I think the silver wyandottes are the ones that are back-ordered. I didn't look too carefully at the dates, but I'm pretty sure it was when I added the SLWs that my order bumped from March to May.

Hah - nevermind, I just double-checked, and the partridge cochins aren't available until end of April. That's why my order is taking so long. Oh well, it will be worth the wait.

Glad to hear the good reviews from MPC. My first chicks are scheduled to ship March 1st. I emailed hoping to add some Salmon Faverolles, too ... XXXing my fingers.

So if the chicks are shipped on the 1st, we would get them on Tues the 2nd? right??? Or do they come on the first?
This is my first time ordering online, Im a bit nervous... but super excited!

JUST GOT my call from My pet chicken.com......My babies will be here Wensday the 31st. They said they will ship monday, express mail...Possibly tuesday, but most likely wensday morning!!! I sent them an email just like an hour ago, worried that my order may be delayed and I got a call that quick...that's impressive! I'm soooo excited, This is my first online order too!

WHOOO HOOO!!! That has me excited too! We checked in with our post office today and got our brooder all set up. I dont know if any of us will be able to sleep. lol Where are you located? We are in South Georgia.

I was looking at the different hatcheries last night and all I see is 'SOLD OUT' or no shipping til May. I'm guessing this is the most busy time of the year.
