That does it. I think Hootie was a Silkie x AM. I'm thinking about crossing some of mine just to see if I get more like her.

I really couldn't afford to lose another AM though and this other bird...............omg..........not doing well at all. I just got this one as a pair. I hate that she's hurt, but I can't cull her. I know I need to, but I can't do it.

I have nearly killed my moms favorite hen, Blackie, a zillion times. She gets right in the hole I am digging. My BF almost dropped a heavy pipe on her, she lost a few tail feathers that day. Sometimes they are just too busy helping for their own good.

I know you feel just horrible, but it was just a terrible accident. You didn't do it, it happened. The 2x4 and your tripping were merely instruments, neither it nor you are to blame for the misfortune.
