Tough call. Air at the top of the eggs will be warmer than air on the floor of the bator, generally (warm air rises), but there is not usually a large discrepancy in a circulated air bator. What you may have to do is take both Flukers out, sit them side by side and measure them against each other and a third thermometer you are sure of in the room to get a sense of which one is most accurate. It's the hardest thing, getting properly accurate instruments. If I ever buy another one, it will be an Egg-Temp incubator thermometer made by GQF, accurate to within .18*. No more fooling around with household thermometers for me.
