I know its a weird time to hatch chickens but o well

My first flock was hatched in October. I now have pullets that hatched in June. (EDIT: This was four years apart. First flock was October 4 years ago.)

First flock grew during the non laying molting season so they missed suffering through that. They came into laying age in March, 5 months old, when molting season is over and they laid so many eggs for me.
This flock hatched in June will hit laying age in November. This is the non laying season. They may lay some eggs but they won’t have the hours of sunlight needed to stimulate egg production. It will probably be around March when they begin to seriously lay eggs. They will be at 9-10 months old.
I really prefer late season hatched pullets😉
