I know Mandarins and Woods shouldn't mate BUT........

Okay I should reword the question.... I know mating will happen, but will fertilization happen.... if I understand right, mandarins and woods are off on a chromosone so no babies.... but what about any other duck... will there be babies?

Any breed descended from the mallard and the mallard itself shouldn't be kept with wild breeds, they will try to mate, but I'm not sure if anything will come of it, why take the chance? Also, you can keep almost any wild breed with woodies and mandies. There have been recorded mutations but they are rare.

I have never seen a mandarin hybrid and the only photo I have seen was of a Mandarin & Ruddy Shellduck.

Wood ducks will cross with many other types of ducks, at least wild ducks. Most domestic ducks are to large to mate with wood ducks, but calls and smaller types are more likely to cross.

There are a couple Wood duck / Pochards hybrids in the center of this pic:

Okay here is the base of my question. I am building a duck pen that is elevated similar to the one scott posted on here... and I want to have enough room for three pair of ducks. I have already ordered a mandarin pair and a wood pair, but I am trying to decide the third pair I should get... It is between these:

1. white mandarins: These obviously might mate with the mandarins but that would be alright since I like both species
2. Black east indies: I think that is the name of them... they seem awesome but I dont know if they will mate with the others and I don't want mixes

If the ducks have chosen their mate and all three have chosen their species then we should be good for them not to bother each other right?

You should be fine, but mallards and wood ducks have mated successfully in the wild, and I'm sure they can and very well might with other wild ducks. With the breeds you've mentioned, you should be fine.
