I know nothing about peafowl!

I was thinking about getting some peafowl, but I know nothing about them. Some Q's I really need A'd:

1. How many hens do the cocks need?
2. What do they eat?
   
3. Do they need a coop, or can they roost in my trees, on my porch, or in or on the chicken coop?
4. How do you raise them? Like a chicken?

I live in Texas, so it rarley dips below 40 F. I also have an 1 1/2 acres of land. My coop has a 7" high, 10" long, 7" wide run. My dog are good with chickens, and shouldn't bother big birds like peafowl.
